My current stock from the 1750s to the early 20th century includes maps and plans by a variety of map-makers and publishers from Dower, Kitchin, Stanford, Bowles, Cary, Creighton, Kelly , Davies, Wyld, Smith and Mogg to the Metropolitan Railway, the Ordnance Survey and maps relating to the exhibitions of 1851 and 1862. I have recently acquired a Wyld map that includes the site of the Great Exhibition before construction in 1850, plans of Victorian London from the 1840s and some tram, train and trade & industry maps from 1904.

Beneath the map there is key to 360 streets and squares. Covers an area from Lords New Cricket Ground across to Hackney in the north and from Chelsea Common to Limehouse Reach in the south. Good to VG condition with some age toning to the reverse. £325

On paper size 102 by 72 cm. Scale one inch to the mile. With colour-coded key to administrative boundaries and to the tram routes of 23 councils and private companies. Some strengthening to folds to reverse with clear archival standard tape. VG condition. £75
Cruchley’s New Plan of London with the East and West India Docks, improved to 1844: coloured to show the various routes of the omnibuses, a table of reference to upwards of over 600 principal streets, squares, public buildings etc. with the railways and stations. Published by G F Cruchley, London 1844. On folding linen in 30 sections, size 86 by 34.5 cm. Scale four inches to the mile. With a colour-coded key and complete with original marbled slipcase bearing the publisher’s label. Vg in Vg slipcase. £525
The New London Guide or a Pocket Plan of the Cities of London and Westminster & Borough of Southwark, with the New Buildings etc. to the year 1776, engraved by Ellis and published by Carington Bowles, London 1776. On folding linen in 16 sections, size 52 by 39 cm. or 15 by 20 and a half inches. Scale 4 inches to the mile. Some hand colouring. Includes a table of reference or key to 103 churches, 56 public buildings (banks, prisons, Inns of Court, hospitals, markets, theatres, inns etc.) that shows their location in the map and another 40 that are identified by name on it. Some signs of age toning and handling but no tears or loss. Good condition. £295
.The Enlarged Pictorial Plan of London in 1909. Published by Charles Baker, London 1909. On paper size 97 by 46 cm. A view of the city as if from the air drawn from above south London. Covers an area from the site of the Imperial Exhibition of 1909 and the White City across to Bethnal Green Road in the north and from Putney Bridge, Hammersmith Bridge and Barnes Reservoirs eastwards to the Grand Surrey Canal and Peckham in the south. A detailed birds-eye view in colour. Some promotional advertising for Baker and information on cab fares etc. to the reverse. Has been folded. Good to VG condition. £135
